Experience the magic of the Serengeti in just two days. Designed for travellers with limited time, this flying safari takes you straight from Zanzibar into one of Africa’s most iconic ecosystems, home to the Great Migration, the Big Five and more than five hundred species of birds.

You fly directly to a Serengeti airstrip, where your professional driver-guide is waiting with a picnic lunch and a 4x4 with pop-up roof. The game drive starts immediately, across open plains, riverine forests and granite kopjes.

The night is spent in a comfortable tented camp in the Central Serengeti, and on the second morning you choose between a sunrise balloon flight and a last game drive before flying back to Zanzibar.

It is the ideal choice if you have just a few days in Zanzibar but do not want to miss the Serengeti: flights, park fees, meals, guide and transfers from your villa are all included.

From the beach
Day 1 · Flight and game drive

From the beach
to the plains.

In the morning your driver takes you from the villa to Zanzibar airport. The flight takes about two hours, sometimes with a short stop in Arusha or Dar es Salaam.

At the airstrip your guide welcomes you with a picnic lunch and the game drive starts right away: lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras and wildebeest across the endless grass.

A night
in the wild.

After the game drive you reach your tented camp for dinner and the night. Comfortable tents with real beds and private bathrooms, and the sounds of the savannah all around.

One last
Day 2 · Balloon or game drive

One last
sunrise.

Option A: a hot-air balloon flight at sunrise over the Serengeti, followed by a champagne bush breakfast (extra cost).

Option B: a final morning game drive on the way to Seronera airstrip. Then the flight back to Zanzibar, where your driver is waiting.

Day 1

Zanzibar → Serengeti

Morning transfer to Zanzibar airport for your flight to the Serengeti (about 2 to 2.5 hours, sometimes with a stop in Arusha or Dar es Salaam). Your guide meets you at the airstrip with a picnic lunch and the afternoon game drive begins straight away, across open plains, riverine forests and kopjes. Dinner and overnight in a tented camp. You may see lion, leopard, cheetah, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, hippo, hyena and dik-dik; black rhino and wild dog are rarely seen.

Day 2

Balloon or game drive

Choose between a sunrise hot-air balloon flight over the plains followed by a champagne bush breakfast (extra cost), or a last morning game drive on the way to Seronera airstrip. Then the flight back to Zanzibar, where your driver is waiting.

Neutral colours, layers for cold mornings and a warm jacket for the balloon.

The safari can be extended to 3 or 4 days with Ngorongoro and Tarangire.

Ask your doctor about malaria prevention and the yellow fever certificate.
